Ixo Hachette Renault 2500 KG Pax 1957 Tour de France Advertising Caravan Mint Open Box

To promote its flagship washing powder, sold under the Pax brand, the Cadum-Palmolive group commissioned a particularly successful advertising vehicle in 1957. Based on a Renault 2.5T chassis, this colourful replica of a washing machine on four wheels toured cycling events. The washing machine in the middle of the chassis was powered by a system that generated foam bubbles, creating the illusion of a washing machine in action. The Pax brand of washing powder is one of the many detergent brands that flooded supermarket shelves from the 1960s onwards. Like Bonux, Pax offers plastic surprise gifts in their detergent boxes.
